As part of an investigation into the distribution of drugs in a drug-free area close to Long Elementary School in Midland, Texas, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit carried out a search warrant on the 4300 block of Mercedes Drive.
Methamphetamine, marijuana, and fentanyl were found during the search. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for John Hardy Burkart, 45, after the operation. He is charged with both manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance in a drug-free area as well as possessing a controlled substance in a drug-free area.
