A Christmas Way to Support Your Local Animal Shelter

To kick off the holiday season, Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels is excited to announce the first BARK Christmas Tree Ornament has been released. The ornaments are available at the kennel, the Rattlesnake Ballroom and Lady Bugs in downtown Clifton. You can also purchase one by visiting the front page of www.barkrescue.org. This first-annual commemorative ornament is available at a cost of $20.

“If you can’t take home one of dogs, take home an ornament. Or both! We’ve also got a special event planned in December.”

A special after-hours event will be held Thursday, December 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. The gathering is for kennel workers, donors, volunteers, and sponsors at the Rattlesnake Ballroom. You’ll find beverages complimentary hor’deouvres, and the full bar will be available. Come and meet the board members there, and find out why giving back to the community and particularly, animals in need, is crucially important. Organizers also invite the public to attend, and join the fight against the abused and neglected dogs in Bosque County.

BARK is also seeking participants for the annual Lighted Christmas Parade in Clifton Friday, December 3. The goal is 12 dog walkers to participate in parade.

“Our goal is to light up that parade with dog walkers taking BARK dogs, decorating them with leashes, harnesses, and any battery-operated lights we can. Visit us, send a message to us on Facebook, call 254-675-1954, or email barkrescuekennels@gmail.com to join in.”

BARK Vice President Jackie Murski Tweet

BARK will also sell ornaments at Heritage Village at the Armory during the Norwegian Country Christmas Home Tour. If you haven’t purchased one by then, stop by, enjoy the homemade crafts and local vendors, and support your local animal rescue kennel. Don’t forget, these ornaments make great gifts for the dog lovers in your life.
