Bacon Bash is back, and headed for Bosque County October 16 this year. Expect beer, bands, and of course, everyone’s favorite meat. Bacon Bash Texas is a nonprofit that has helped children with type 1 diabetes and Niki Warms the Cold, a charity in support of warming the homeless and keeping them clothed. The festival in 2021 is very special as it marks the 10-year anniversary of the first bash! The event is hosted by Pederson Farms, and in the past, more than $515,000 has been contributed to its causes since the beginning. In 2019, organizers raised more than $114,000 in support of the two causes.
Bacon Bash takes place in a small town, Cranfills Gap, which has a population of about 400. The event uses bacon, beer and bands to raise money. The event becomes a big street party in the main section of town, with the population jumping from around 400 to more than 2,500.
A large portion of the attendees travel in from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and the other half travel in from various cities in the lone star state. The main component of Bacon Bash is the 50 cook-off teams bringing their best to see who makes the most delicious bacon dish. Click the website here to register.
- All Team Entries come with 6 Team Members (please note, you can have less than 6 members!) You can add an additional 2 team members for $25 each, for a max team of 8.

Exciting New Rules
- Teams now have the option to do any food preparation and cooking at home. While organizers still encourage teams to cook onsite, contestants can pre-make arrangements to have your bacon shipped to your location of choice prior to the event.
- All teams must compete in the bacon portion of the competition BUT are allowed to sell additional food items (if desired) starting at 7 p.m. Any remaining bacon or samples are not allowed to be sold.
