Christmas on the Bosque, Parade set for December 4 in Meridian

The annual celebration of Christmas on the Bosque is set for Saturday, December 4 this year. The Man in Red is expected to make an appearance in Meridian Park after the parade. Santa’s House will make its last appearance in the parade float this year, as the building is being retired, but you can expect jolly old St. Nick to roll by in the structure. the event is free for the public to attend.  

The parade lineup begins at 5 p.m., with judging to begin at 5:30 p.m. Come 6 p.m., participants will start moving towards Merdian park along the usual route. The lineup is at the Church of Christ at the corner of Bosque and K streets. The parade turns left onto Main Street (aka SH 144), past the courthouse and right onto River Street. Santa will step off his float to greet children, and accept their Christmas lists for this year. 

To register as a vendor in the park or join in on the parade, applications are open until Friday, December 3, but organizers urge the public to get them in early to plan for the length of the parade and local police that shut traffic down.
