Ron Hubbard and volunteers with the Pot O’Gold presented checks this morning (Monday, November 29) to Kathy Harr of the Wreaths Across America Clifton Cemeteries and Grover McMains, who oversees the Cranfills Gap Cemeteries of the same organization. The donations were $1,000 each, made out to the organizations that honor local veterans buried in Bosque.
The wreath-laying ceremonies will take place Saturday, December 18, at 11 a.m.
The Clifton locations are Clifton Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Memorial Park, and Lanes Chapel near Valley Mills.
In Cranfills Gap, St. Olaf’s Kirke (The Rock Church), Boggy and Cranfills Gap cemeteries are the locations.
The ceremony for all the the Clifton cemetereries will be held at Clifton Cemetery.
For the ceremony in Cranfills Gap, the location is the Rock Church.
Youth are encouraged to attend the ceremonies, as local history and the sacrifices of those that came before and served their country is important to the freedoms we enjoy today.
This is the fourth year that the Cranfills Gap Cemeteries are in the program, with the first for the Clifton grouping. For our past coverage of the ceremony in Cranfills Gap, click here. To join The Pot O’Gold Facebook group, click here.
