$10k reward offered for info on endangered gray wolf killed in eastern Oregon

As it looks into the death of a federally listed endangered gray wolf in Morrow County last month, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is asking the public for assistance.

According to a U.S. Fish and Wildlife press release, a radio-collared male gray wolf, OR 159, was discovered dead on private property approximately 20 miles south of Heppner on November 8. According to the government, gray wolves are designated as endangered under the federal Endangered Species Act in Morrow County, which is west of Highway 395.

For information that results in the wolf’s capture, criminal conviction, or civil penalty assessment, the government is offering a $10,000 reward.

The inquiry is being assisted by the Oregon State Police. Anyone with information about the case can contact Oregon State Police dispatch at (800) 452-7888, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services at (503) 682-6131, or via email at [email protected]. Those who call those tip lines may not be identified, the government agency said.
