Officials reported that two guys from Portland who had been searching for Sasquatch were discovered dead in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest on Saturday.
The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office stated in a statement on Facebook Saturday that a family member reported the two men missing at around 1 a.m. on Christmas Day after they failed to return on Christmas Eve as planned.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent a helicopter, and over 60 volunteers assisted in the search for the guys.
According to the sheriff’s office, the men, 59 and 37, were discovered dead on December 28 in a forested region of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Based on the weather and lack of preparation, the sheriff’s office stated that they seemed to have died from exposure.
The families of the loved ones lost in this unfortunate incident have our sincere sympathy and sorrow, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office said.
