3 dead, more injured in Wisconsin school shooting

Authorities say Monday’s shooting at a private Christian school in Wisconsin left three people dead and several others injured, including the alleged shooter.

According to police, two individuals were killed in the final week before Christmas break when a young person opened fire at a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday morning. The shooter also died, according to the police.

Although police have since changed the number of fatalities from the shooting, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes told media that five individuals were killed.

Barnes stated that further people were hurt in the incident at Abundant Life Christian School, but he did not provide any information about the casualties.

Barnes claims that none of the responding officers fired their weapons during the shooting.

On Monday afternoon, the school’s surrounding roads were shut by police.

To support local law enforcement, agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives have arrived on the site.

As we wait for additional information, we are praying for the children, teachers, and entire Abundant Life school community. We are also thankful for the first responders who are responding swiftly, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said in a statement.

According to its website, Abundant Life Christian School is a nondenominational institution with over 390 students enrolled in kindergarten through high school.
