La Marque resident Ronnie LaShawn Allen must face the consequences of his actions after pleading guilty to leading a crack cocaine distribution ring operating in his community.
As published by hoodline The 45-year-old was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey V. Brown.
Allen’s criminal activity stretched over a two-year period, from February 2017 to February 2019. During that time, he was responsible for distributing more than two kilograms of crack cocaine, a dangerous and addictive substance that wreaked havoc in the La Marque and Texas City communities.
Crack cocaine, the crystalized form of cocaine, is known for its highly addictive properties and is a significant contributor to crime and violence in many areas.

The investigation that led to Allen’s downfall was the result of a joint effort by the FBI’s Safe Streets and Violent Crimes Task Force and the La Marque Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Cusick handled the prosecution of the case, which culminated in Allen’s sentencing. Allen’s transfer to a federal prison facility is pending. He will serve out his 10-year sentence followed by five years of supervised release.
