Two separate incidents in Texas this past weekend have resulted in charges against mothers who left their children unattended in hot cars.
In San Antonio, Angela Garza-Amador faces child endangerment charges after allegedly leaving her four-year-old, two-year-old, and one-month-old infant locked inside a car on Friday afternoon according to the source audacy
With temperatures reaching the high 90s, the children were exposed to dangerous heat conditions. Thankfully, all three were hospitalized, treated, and are expected to make a full recovery.
Meanwhile, in Baytown near Houston, Lydia Aviles left her two young children in a parked car while getting her nails done on Friday.
Although Aviles reportedly left the car running with the air conditioning on, it was apparently insufficient to cool the car down to a safe temperature.

Aviles was arrested but released on bond, and her children were placed in the care of a family member. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this case.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles, even for a short period. Temperatures inside cars can rise rapidly, posing a serious health risk to occupants, especially young children.
Both San Antonio and Baytown authorities are likely to use these incidents to raise awareness about the dangers of heatstroke and the importance of responsible child care.
