Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves Woman Dead in South Houston; Suspect Sought

A deadly hit-and-run collision near the junction of Mallow Street and Scott Street in South Houston on Tuesday, December 3, at around 9:15 p.m., is being looked into by Houston police.

The victim, a woman whose identity is being confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was hit by a white Ford pickup truck heading south on Scott Street while she was in the crosswalk. The truck’s driver fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance as he turned left onto Mallow Street.

After paramedics from the Houston Fire Department arrived on the scene, they took the woman to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where she was declared dead.
