Lookout Mountain District Attorney Returns from Military Deployment in Middle East

Following a six-month military assignment with the US Air Force, Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Clayton M. Fuller has returned to his position. DA Fuller supported U.S. Central Command as a legal advisor to military operations in the Middle East from May 3 to October 30, 2024. He was deployed to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Kevin Baugh served as the Designated Acting District Attorney while he was away, keeping the office running smoothly. DA Fuller remarked, “I am so grateful to Kevin and the team for their amazing work in keeping the community safe and assisting our law enforcement partners while I was away.” It was an honor to serve my nation and help our efforts to stabilize the Middle East during a period of unprecedented uncertainty and turmoil in the region, but I missed my family and the DA’s office team.

During his tour, DA Fuller, a 14-year veteran of the Georgia Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force, was elevated to lieutenant colonel. For his actions, he received the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. In the past, Fuller has worked in the Pentagon and the White House, where he was honored with the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Award for Outstanding Achievement for his counterterrorism efforts.
