NEW YORK CITY — Chaos erupted in Midtown Tuesday night when a knife-wielding man harassing a hotdog vendor was shot by a bystander.
The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. at the busy intersection of 33rd Street and Broadway, according to police and sources by Yahoo
The 39-year-old suspect began threatening the street vendor, drawing a knife and scraping it ominously on the ground. Witnesses report the man then pointed the knife at four men standing on the corner, further escalating the already tense situation.
One of the men, seeing the imminent danger, pulled out a gun and shot the aggressor in the leg, according to police sources.
