ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – As extreme summer heat grips New Mexico, Albuquerque leaders have introduced “Operation Cooldown” to help residents beat the scorching temperatures.
When temperatures soar to 100 degrees or higher, the city’s Parks and Recreation department will activate sprinklers at four designated city parks, providing a refreshing respite for residents.
The parks included in this initiative will rotate daily to ensure broader access.
Today, the sprinklers will be on at Quigley Park, Briar Ridge Park, Mesa Verde Park, and Alamosa Park from 1-2 p.m.
