For a few years now, Atkins has been among the best boys’ basketball players in Oregon. Last winter, as a junior, he was selected to both the Mt. Hood Conference first team and the second team all-state.

He has guided Barlow to a 65-21 record in three years, helping the Bruins place fifth in the state finals in 2022 and fourth in 2023.

More Oregon high school sports

In recent years, Oregon high school basketball players have somewhat centered themselves in eastern Arizona.

Raysean Seamster, a Roosevelt graduate, Noah Ogoli of Tualatin (who won the 2022 Class 6A state title with the Timberwolves), and Dallon Morgan of Sprague are now on the Monsters.
