Dear Abby: Overly nosy neighbor’s incessant, intrusive questions need to stop

Greetings, Abby My neighbor spreads rumors about our other neighbors. She informs me if a man stays overnight when he visits our neighbor across the street. She is always inquiring about their whereabouts and activities. I informed her that since I don’t keep an eye on what other people are doing, I don’t know.I’ve started getting calls from one neighbor asking where I go when I go out. She asks me why if I visit the doctor. She wants to know how much I paid for any work done at my house. She asks me where I’ve been for so long if I’m gone for more than a few hours.Since I’m a private person, if I want someone to know, I will tell them. If I have company, she even goes outside and begins pulling weeds. I’m not sure how to handle her. — WEST VIRGINIA PRIVATE

DEAR PRIVATE: Telling this nosy woman that it was none of her business will help her deal with her persistent and intrusive questions. Steer clear of her at all costs. If your neighbor across the street isn’t already aware, let her know that this person is violating her privacy by telling everyone she sees what she sees.
