Driver Fleeing Crash Involving Pedestrian in South Austin Sought by Police

The Austin Police Department (APD), Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, and the Austin Fire Department responded to a failure to stop and give aid crash in the 7800 block of S 1st St. on November 23, 2024, at around 6:35 p.m.

The driver of a little black automobile, which may have been a 2019–2023 Toyota Corolla, impacted a car and a pedestrian before escaping the scene without offering any assistance, according to preliminary findings. After suffering injuries, the pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

A car with front-end accident damage and a missing passenger-side mirror is being sought by authorities. The inquiry is still under progress.
