ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The FBI has apprehended Joaquin Ricardo Molinar, suspected of robbing six banks in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas.

Known as the “Tan Pants Bandit,” Molinar was linked to these crimes through cell phone location data, placing him near the banks at the time of the robberies.

During a search of Molinar’s home on Wednesday, FBI agents found two pairs of tan pants and several robbery demand notes.

According to the source, one of the notes read, “Let’s not make this hard.

Give me money now. No dye packs, quick, easy. No Alarm. Hurry.”

Molinar’s alleged crime spree began in March, with his most recent robbery occurring earlier this month.
