Gunfire Erupts During Pearland Apartment Standoff; SWAT Responds

Pearland Police responded to allegations of bullet holes in the door of an apartment at 2701 Old Alvin Road, in the 300 Building, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at around 8:45 a.m. Authorities had been notified by a concerned citizen who had observed the damage.

Officers who arrived at the site concluded that the apartment was the source of the bullet holes. Officers wearing ballistic shields were confronted by gunfire from inside the door as they approached it. No policemen were hurt, although the shield was hit by at least one round.

Since then, the male suspect has locked himself in the apartment. The location has been taken over by SWAT troops, and law enforcement is still actively involved.

While officers attempt to safely handle the situation, the Pearland Police Department has asked the public to stay away from the area. As further information becomes available, it will be updated.
