Human Skull Discovery Leads to Investigation in Beaumont

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) contacted investigators from the Beaumont Police Department on December 6, 2024, about a citizen who was in possession of a human skull. Investigators verified the skull’s existence and determined that it was first found on October 29 in Beaumont, close to the 6200 block of Helbig Road.

Officers from Beaumont Police and HCSO arrived at the forested location that the person who discovered the skull had described. Investigators found more human remains during a search of the area. The next morning, the scene was processed by the Jefferson County Crime Lab.

Authorities have not yet identified the remains or ascertained the circumstances surrounding the finding, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
