Albany investigators are learning more about a decomposed body discovered earlier this week.
The body, found in a secluded area, has raised numerous questions as authorities work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the death.
Police were alerted to the site by a local resident who noticed a foul odor while walking their dog as per to the source wnyt
Upon arrival, officers found the decomposed remains and immediately cordoned off the area for further investigation. Initial reports suggest the body had been there for several weeks.
Detectives have identified the deceased as a middle-aged male but have not yet released the identity pending notification of next of kin.
Albany Police Department spokesperson, Officer Jane Williams, stated, “We are working diligently to uncover the circumstances of this individual’s death. At this time, we are not ruling out any possibilities, including foul play.”
