Montgomery County deputies were called to a nearby emergency room at around 1:30 a.m. on December 4, 2024, following the admission of a 40-year-old male who had been shot in the abdomen.
Investigators concluded that a fight over a drug deal was the cause of the shooting. The inquiry was taken over by Crime Scene Investigators and Detectives of Homicide and Violent Crimes.
The suspect was promptly identified by District 3 Patrol units as Porter resident Jason Andrew Knight, age 18. Knight was found and taken into custody by deputies at his home with the help of Montgomery County Constable’s Precinct 4.
Knight is being jailed at the Montgomery County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. At a nearby hospital, the victim, a resident of New Caney, is in stable condition. The inquiry is still under progress.
