ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A motorcyclist tragically lost his life following a high-speed crash in northeast Albuquerque on Thursday night.
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of Monte Vista Blvd. and Marquette Ave., according to the Albuquerque Police Department.
Authorities report that the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Marquette Ave. at a high rate of speed when he ran a stop sign at Monte Vista Blvd. Find the source at yahoo
The motorcycle then collided with the passenger front corner of a black Toyota Corolla that was heading north on Monte Vista.
The impact of the crash was severe, throwing the motorcyclist from his bike and onto the northwest curb across the street. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the speed of the motorcycle and the actions of both drivers leading up to the collision.
