A former deputy chief of staff and interim division director filed a complaint against Chair Jessica Vega Pederson, alleging that the county retaliated against her after she voiced concerns that the chair’s office was breaking public records law. Multnomah County has agreed to pay $138,000 to resolve the lawsuit.
The agreement reached Monday also calls for the county to put Tabitha Jensen, the current head of the county’s Youth and Family Services Division, on paid administrative leave until the middle of March. She will get a salary during that time, but when asked how much she would be paid, the county did not immediately reply. Additionally, through the end of April, Jensen will continue to be covered by county-provided health insurance.
