No traumatic injuries found in North Portland stabbing suspect who died in custody, police said

A man who died in police custody after being arrested for allegedly stabbing someone else at a convenience store in North Portland was found to have no severe injuries by an autopsy, according to police on Thursday.

The 43-year-old male was taken into custody by Portland police on Wednesday night, two blocks north of the convenience store near the intersection of Interstate Avenue and North Going Street. On Thursday, the Oregon State Medical Examiner discovered no evidence that any external trauma was the cause of his death. His name has not been made public by the police.
