Tyler Man Sentenced to 18 Years in Jail for Fatal Drunk Driving Crash

TYLER, TX – A Tyler man who caused a crash that killed someone last year took a deal to go to jail for 18 years on Friday.

Nicholas Ray Agustin, who is 20 years old, pleaded guilty to drunk driving manslaughter and drunk driving attack for a crash he caused last October. It happened near Tyler on State Highway 110 when Agustin crossed into the other lane of traffic and hit another car.

In the crash, David Lewandowski, who was 51 and from Hewitt, died. Lewandowski’s wife was also hurt in the accident. Since Agustin’s terms run at the same time, he will spend 18 years behind bars.
