At 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued an updated strong wind warning for Clatsop County Coast, which will remain in force until 8 a.m.
“West to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 50 to 65 mph, with the strongest winds along the headlands and open exposed areas,” the weather service reports. After 8 am, the winds will gradually subside.
Damaged winds have the potential to topple electrical wires and trees. There may likely be power outages. The weather service says, “Travel will be challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles.”
