At 1:46 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued an updated strong wind warning for Clatsop County Coast, which is in effect until 8 a.m.
“South to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 55 to 65 mph, with the strongest winds along the headlands and open exposed areas,” the weather service reports. After 5 am, the winds will shift more to the southwest to the west.
Damaged winds have the potential to topple electrical wires and trees. There will likely be some power outages. The weather service says, “Travel will be challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles.”
