At 1:52 p.m. on Wednesday, the NWS issued an updated strong wind warning for Oregon’s Tillamook County Coast and Central Coast, which was in effect from 6 p.m. to Thursday at 8 a.m.
“South winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 55 to 65 mph are expected along the headlands and open exposed areas like the beaches,” the weather agency states. Expect 45 to 55 mph gusts elsewhere.
Damaged winds have the potential to topple electrical wires and trees. There will likely be some power outages. The weather agency warns that travel will be challenging, particularly for well-known automobiles.
