The Sumter Police Department is currently searching for a man who fired multiple shots at a residence in the Midlands. According to a news release on Wednesday, the department identified the suspect as 25-year-old J’Fon S’Mordrick Nike Richardson, a resident of Sumter. Richardson is wanted on various charges, including attempted murder.
The incident took place on March 5 at a home located on Charlotte Avenue. Authorities responded to a reported fight at the residence around 2 a.m. During their investigation, officers discovered that shots had been fired and identified Richardson as the shooter.
Fortunately, no individuals were injured by the gunfire, but the house and some vehicles sustained damage from the bullets. The police have not disclosed any information regarding the motive behind the shooting or whether Richardson had any prior connection to the home and its occupants.
The exact details of the additional charges Richardson is facing have not been made available. However, the police have stated that an ongoing investigation is underway.
