ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is now in jail after leading police on a high-speed chase that lasted for hours.
The suspect, 23-year-old Coby Anderson, was reportedly pursued by officers at least 10 times before his arrest.
The chase began early Saturday morning when Anderson sped away from Albuquerque Police Department (APD) officers on his motorcycle.
Police say Anderson drove at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and was even seen drag racing on the freeway three times during the pursuit.
One officer shouted, “It’s over bro; it’s over,” as they finally apprehended him after more than two hours.
Around midnight, APD officers noticed a yellow Honda motorcycle without a license plate near Montgomery and San Mateo.
According to the source, they first tried to pull him over at 12:30 a.m. However, Anderson fled, heading east on Montgomery and then onto Eubank.
Police allege that Anderson headed towards I-40, and air support footage later captured him drag racing on I-25 on at least three separate occasions.
Throughout the chase, Anderson reportedly made several laps around the city, weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds.
To try and stop him, state police and APD slowed down traffic on southbound I-25 near Comanche. Anderson reportedly saw the police, turned around, and drove into oncoming traffic off the on-ramp.
The chase ended when Anderson finally stopped near 2nd and Marquette. He left his motorcycle and started running. Air support provided updates, saying he was running slowly and coming to a stop.
Officers quickly caught up with him and took him down. The chase ended just before 3 a.m. when Anderson was handcuffed.

Anderson now faces 10 counts of aggravated fleeing an officer, racing on highways, and multiple traffic violations. He will remain in custody until he appears before a judge.
APD noted that while Anderson was the focus of the chase, there is no information on other vehicles involved in the drag racing.
