ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Emory Gallegos, a suspect in the 2022 murder of William Vencil, will remain in custody following his arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI).
Gallegos was living with his grandmother while awaiting trial, but his recent DWI arrest violated the terms of his release.
According to the source, police arrested Gallegos in June after he was found driving drunk on Coors near the bypass.
This incident occurred around one o’clock in the morning after he had finished work.
The arrest raised concerns due to the serious nature of the charges against him.
Judge Emeterio Rudolfo stated, “When you have such a serious charge as murder, to think of someone, you know, one o’clock in the morning, I believe it was when he was pulled over, after work, going to drink, and then, to the point of being aggravated.

That’s what concerned the court initially when I revoked his conditions of release.
And I’m still concerned. So I’m not going to release him.”
