NORTH TEXAS — High pressure is set to build in from the west, warming North Texas back into the triple digits by Tuesday afternoon.
According to the source, we are expecting the hottest temperatures of the year by mid to late week.
Heat advisories will likely be needed by Wednesday, with ambient temperatures forecasted to be over 103°F and heat indices above 105°F.
Some areas west of DFW may hit the Excessive Heat Warning criteria of over 110°F. If that happens, a Weather Alert may be issued.
While North Texas braces for the heat and dry conditions through the week, the southeast United States is already feeling the impacts of Tropical Storm Debby.
As of 7 p.m. Monday, Debby remains a tropical storm, steadily moving northeast.
Tropical systems often bring coastal flooding, storm surges, and strong winds.
Debby continues to pose these threats, but the significant concern is the catastrophic rainfall expected to hit inland areas of Georgia and the Carolinas.
Regions more than 50 miles from the coast could see over a foot of rain, leading to devastating conditions.

Heading into the weekend, expect a shift in wind direction starting Friday and continuing into Saturday.
A weak cold front will bring a subtle change in winds and humidity, and temperatures will drop to near 100°F. Rain chances remain low at 10-20%.
