The FBI recently raided several Delia’s locations in South Texas, including its restaurant on the Northwest Side of San Antonio.
According to the source, Delia’s, which claims to be the “best tamale maker” in Texas, faced a significant law enforcement presence on Wednesday.
The FBI conducted a “court-authorized law enforcement activity” around Loop 1604 and Hausman, according to FBI spokeswoman Trista Moxley. As of Wednesday afternoon, no further details were released.
Ricardo Gonzalez, an attorney representing Delia’s, mentioned that the company had not been informed by the FBI about the operation.
The raid comes amid serious legal issues for Delia’s, which is owned by McAllen-based Delgar Foods LLC.
Delia is currently facing a lawsuit accusing it of orchestrating a scheme to provide 26 former employees with “fake” Social Security cards to allow them to work.

The lawsuit also alleges that Delia maintained two sets of books: one for legitimate payroll and another for tracking cash payments.
Additionally, some of the workers involved in the lawsuit reportedly worked as housekeepers at the owner’s home during part of their shifts.
