Greg Abbott Urges Return to Trump Presidency for Border Security Reform

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has passionately called for a return to former President Donald Trump’s leadership to address the ongoing border security challenges facing America.

Speaking at a recent event, Abbott emphasized the critical need for a president who prioritizes securing the nation’s borders, citing Trump’s previous efforts to achieve significant reductions in illegal crossings.

“The president’s most sacred duty is to protect our country,” Abbott asserted, highlighting Trump’s administration’s success in achieving the lowest illegal border crossings in decades.

In contrast, Abbott criticized President Joe Biden’s policies, which he claimed have led to a surge in illegal border crossings, including over 12 million individuals, among them two million evading capture.

Under Biden’s administration, the number of apprehended illegal border crossers has exceeded the combined populations of 44 U.S. states and 155 countries.

Recent reports indicate that over 205,000 individuals illegally entered the U.S. in the past month alone, contributing to a total surpassing 2.4 million for fiscal year 2024, with record apprehensions at the northern border.

Abbott highlighted the severe consequences of Biden’s border policies, alleging that dangerous criminals, including rapists, murderers, and terrorists, have entered the country unchecked.

He cited tragic incidents, such as the case of 12-year-old Jocelyn from Houston, who was raped and murdered by individuals released under parole programs overseen by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Criminal activities linked to these parole programs have reportedly resulted in violent incidents nationwide, including the case shared by a Maryland resident whose sister was raped and killed by an individual in the country illegally.

Abbott criticized Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for what he described as a failure to acknowledge the victims or take responsibility for the consequences of their policies.

The governor underscored Texas’ proactive measures in border security, including the deployment of National Guard troops and the launch of Operation Lone Star.

Texas has allocated nearly $12 billion to fund these efforts, surpassing federal allocations during the Trump administration.

Operation Lone Star has yielded significant results, with hundreds of thousands of illegal border crossers apprehended and numerous criminal arrests made.

Abbott also highlighted legal battles with the Biden administration over border security, including disputes over razor wire barriers constructed by Texas to deter illegal crossings.

According to the source, despite federal opposition, Texas has expanded these barriers in response to increased illegal activities.

In a bold move, Abbott directed the Texas National Guard to reclaim state-owned border property used by the federal government for processing illegal immigrants.

This action significantly reduced illegal crossings in the area, prompting Abbott to extend similar measures to other locations by transporting illegal border crossers to Washington, D.C., and sanctuary cities nationwide.

Looking ahead, Abbott expressed optimism about the upcoming presidential election, predicting Trump’s return to office and a restoration of order at the border.

He vowed to continue confronting the border crisis until effective measures are implemented.
