The New York State Police are now accepting applications for the Trooper Entrance Examination. Governor Kathy Hochul announced that testing for candidates will begin on August 15, 2024.
This move comes from a $66 million investment by Governor Hochul to fund additional State Police academy classes, aiming to increase the number of New York State Troopers.
This effort is focused on addressing the state’s pressing crime issues, such as illegal firearm trafficking.
Governor Hochul emphasized the importance of public safety, saying, “Public safety is my top priority, and we will continue to make record investments in law enforcement so that New York State is best prepared to protect New Yorkers.”
She encourages those interested in a rewarding career to apply now, highlighting the $66 million investment’s role in boosting the potential number of New York State Troopers.
