House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is investigating Loren Merchan, the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan.
Judge Merchan presided over former President Trump’s criminal trial, where Trump was found guilty on all counts of falsifying business records. Trump has asked Judge Merchan to overturn this verdict.
According to the source, before the trial began, Trump’s legal team urged Judge Merchan to step down from the case due to his daughter’s political work.
Loren Merchan worked for Authentic Campaigns, Inc., a company serving Democrat clients, including President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump’s lawyers argued that her role at the firm posed a conflict of interest.
Jim Jordan sent a letter to Loren Merchan, focusing on her work with Vice President Harris. He pointed out that Authentic Campaigns earned over $7 million while working for Harris.
Jordan also noted that Loren was promoted to President of Authentic Campaigns after Harris dropped out of the primary.
Jordan expressed concerns about the firm’s potential profits from Trump’s prosecution, overseen by her father.
He demanded Loren Merchan provide contracts and invoices for work done for the Biden and Harris campaigns, as well as communications related to Trump’s indictment and prosecution.

Jordan’s request is part of the House Judiciary Committee’s broader investigation into what they describe as “politically motivated prosecutions by state and local officials.”
Loren Merchan has until August 8 to comply with Jordan’s demands.
