ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A judge has dismissed the case against Fransisco Almeida, an Albuquerque man accused of murdering Allen Sandoval.
According to the source, the incident occurred in January 2022 at Almeida’s ex-girlfriend’s home.
Almeida was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and shooting Sandoval. His trial began on Monday in front of Judge Cindy Leos.
However, by Wednesday, Judge Leos dismissed the case, citing that investigators had withheld evidence from Almeida’s lawyers.

This crucial evidence was revealed in court for the first time on Wednesday.
Judge Leos has scheduled a hearing on October 25 to determine whether the state can refile the charges. With the charges dismissed, Almeida was released from custody.
