HOUSTON – President Joe Biden made a significant visit to Houston on Monday, paying his respects to the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
This was his second stop in Texas for the day, following a visit to Austin earlier.
The President’s Air Force One was accompanied by several notable figures, including Rep. Al Green, civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton, and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.
Together, they honored Congresswoman Lee at Houston City Hall, where she became only the second person to lie in state.
According to the source, the city’s Sky 2 captured the poignant procession around 6 a.m. Monday.
Throughout the day, the public had the opportunity to pay their respects before President Biden made his private visit with Lee’s family.
Sheila Jackson Lee, who passed away from pancreatic cancer ten days ago, was remembered with a moving tribute.
During his visit, President Biden placed a bouquet of flowers near Lee’s flag-draped casket.

He bowed his head in prayer and signed the guest book with a heartfelt message: “Fearless, proud, and bold.
May God bless a dear friend and great American. May God bless you, Sheila Jackson Lee.”
Looking ahead, Vice President Kamala Harris will return to Houston on Thursday, August 1, to attend Congresswoman Jackson Lee’s funeral.
