Texas City, TX – Authorities are on high alert after two juveniles were found shot outside an apartment complex in Texas City. The suspect remains at large, and police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in the investigation.
The Incident
The Texas City Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Baypoint Apartments located on 6th Street North at approximately 8:30 PM on Sunday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two juveniles with gunshot wounds lying near the entrance of the complex. Both victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Police Statement
“We received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired,” said Texas City Police Chief Joe Stanton. “Our officers arrived on the scene promptly and found two young victims who had been shot. We are dedicating all available resources to apprehend the individual responsible for this heinous act.”
Suspect Description and Manhunt
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large. Witnesses described the suspect as a male in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. Authorities have launched an intensive manhunt and are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
“We are working around the clock to locate the suspect,” said Chief Stanton. “We ask anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact the Texas City Police Department immediately.”
Investigation Underway
Detectives are canvassing the area, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. Preliminary findings suggest that the incident may have been targeted, but the motive remains unclear.
