BROWNSVILLE, Texas – In a significant interception, border agents at the Los Indios International Bridge seized over $1.6 million worth of illicit drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine as per the sources covered by borderreport
The bust occurred when a 24-year-old man from Harlingen, Texas, attempted to enter the U.S. in a 2006 Ford vehicle on Sunday, June 9.
According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Field Operations Office, the drugs also included Alprazolam, a psychotropic drug used for pain management and anxiety.
The interception highlights the ongoing efforts of officers to combat drug trafficking across Texas borders.
“Our officers’ experience and vigilant enforcement efforts played a crucial role in this significant narcotics seizure,” stated Port Director Tater Ortiz of the Brownsville Port of Entry.
