Texas City PD Nabs Fugitive Predator: Five-Month Investigation Ends in Arrest

In Texas City, Texas, a five-month investigation has led to the arrest of May Arnoldo Perez Romero, a 38-year-old Houston resident.

The Texas City Police Department’s Internet Crime Against Children Task Force spearheaded the operation.

Perez was arrested on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, after he allegedly traveled to Texas City to meet what he believed was a 13-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.

The investigation began in March 2024, when Perez started communicating with the supposed minor online.

The arrest was the result of a coordinated effort by the Crime Suppression Unit, Criminal Investigation Division, Drone Team, and K-9 Bruno.

According to the source, Perez is facing charges for Online Solicitation of a Minor under 14, with his bond set at $60,000.

The Texas City Police Department emphasized its commitment to protecting the community, stating, “The Texas City Police Department is dedicated and will work relentlessly to arrest and prosecute child predators who attempt to prey on the children of our community.”
