A Fulton County judge has sentenced a man to life in prison for the tragic murder of a woman he briefly dated.

Prosecutors revealed that the victim, Fabiola Thomas, was killed after rejecting Antonio Wilson, whom she met on a dating app.

Channel 2 investigator Ashli Lincoln was the only reporter present in the courtroom when Wilson received his sentence for the 2019 murder.

According to the source, Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis emphasized the importance of prosecuting domestic violence cases.

“It’s one of the hardest crimes to combat,” Willis shared in an exclusive interview. “This issue hits close to home for me.”

The case was handled by the Brenda Bayham Domestic Violence Unit, named in honor of Willis’ late aunt, who was tragically killed by her husband. The unit’s conviction of Wilson brings a sense of justice in this heartbreaking case.

Fabiola Thomas was attacked and murdered in her Roswell apartment in 2019. Her sister, Myrto Charles, recalls their last moments together, saying, “We hugged and kissed each other.

That was the last time we said ‘I love you.'”

Just a week later, Thomas’ family received the devastating news of her death, which occurred just a month before her 40th birthday.

“My sister was attacked and murdered in her home,” Charles said, adding that Thomas had many dreams and goals that were cut short by this tragic event.

Antonio Wilson has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for malice murder. According to Senior Assistant District Attorney Nalda Charles, “She unfriended Antonio Wilson the day before she died.”

The prosecution presented text messages showing that Wilson could not handle Thomas’ rejection. One of Thomas’ messages read, “Keep your ring, I’m not your woman, never was, stop claiming me because I never claimed you.”

Investigators found that Thomas and Wilson had only dated briefly after meeting on the dating app.

Assistant District Attorney Abigail Potter noted that Thomas had taken precautions, meeting Wilson only in public places and informing friends of her whereabouts.

Despite these precautions, Wilson found out where Thomas lived and attacked her in her home. “And that is the most chilling part because she’s getting ready for work, she’s in her pajamas,” ADA Nalda Charles said.

Jurors saw crime scene photos, heard testimonies placing Wilson at the scene, and listened to Thomas’ roommate, who found her body in a tub. It took the jury only 30 minutes to find Wilson guilty.

“It was just so egregious. It was unnecessary, it didn’t have to happen. She was unarmed, defenseless, and in her home, all because she said no,” the prosecution emphasized.
