In a large-scale rescue operation, authorities in Ruidoso have saved 50 dogs and cats from dire conditions. The rescue was a coordinated effort involving local animal shelters and the Ruidoso Animal Control.
The animals were found living in overcrowded and unsanitary environments. Many were malnourished and in need of medical attention.
