An Albuquerque man has been handed his second life sentence for the murder of Cayla Campos. The sentencing, announced on Friday, underscores the severity of the crime that shook the community in October 2019.
The convicted individual, 25-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez, was found guilty of fatally shooting Campos while she was playing Pokémon Go near Bianchetti Park. Campos, 21, was in her car with a friend when she witnessed a robbery in progress as per to the official source of Yahoo
Attempting to flee the scene, she was struck by gunfire, resulting in her tragic death.
Hernandez had already been serving a life sentence for unrelated charges when the new sentence was imposed.
