Burglary Attempt at Denton 7-Eleven Thwarted by Police, Eight in Custody

According to a news release issued by the department, officers with the Plano Police Department detained eight people for attempting to commit burglary at a 7-Eleven store in the 900 block of Fort Worth Drive in Denton that contained an automated teller machine (ATM).

Amy Cunningham, a spokesman for the Denton Police Department, stated that the department got a call at approximately 5:26 a.m. on Thursday.

A store sales associate stated that three individuals secured an automated teller machine (ATM) with chains and then removed it from the premises using a truck.
