Deadly Intersection: One Dead After Northeast Albuquerque Crash

A motorist was tragically killed late Wednesday night in a collision at a busy intersection in Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) is investigating the accident, which occurred at the crossroads of Lomas Boulevard and Pennsylvania Street.

Details about the cause of the crash are still emerging, but APD has confirmed one fatality as per the official sources of Yahoo

According to APD’s initial report, a head-on collision involving a white Jeep and a silver Chevrolet SUV caused the fatality. The driver of the SUV, attempting a left turn from Lomas Boulevard onto Pennsylvania Street, reported having a green light and green turn arrow.

Sadly, the driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene after being extricated from the vehicle. The driver of the SUV, though shaken, escaped with minor injuries and received treatment at the University of New Mexico Hospital.

While APD has ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
