University of New Mexico (UNM) Police are actively searching for a suspect involved in a stabbing incident on campus. The attack occurred on Tuesday evening near the Student Union Building, leaving one student with serious injuries.
As per the source krqe Witnesses reported seeing a confrontation between the suspect and the victim before the stabbing took place.
The suspect, described as a male in his early 20s wearing a black hoodie and jeans, fled the scene immediately after the incident.
UNM Police have increased patrols and are urging anyone with information to come forward. “We are utilizing all available resources to identify and apprehend the suspect,” said Chief of Police Kevin McCabe. “The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.”

The injured student was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.
