WACO, Texas – Three sergeants from the Waco Police Department have completed over 150 hours of training provided by the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration.
This training program, known as the School of Police Supervision, is specifically designed for newly promoted sergeants. It equips them with the essential skills required to serve effectively within the Waco Police Department.
While the state mandates that officers promoted to the rank of sergeant complete 40 hours of training, Sergeant Conner, Sergeant Basden, and Sergeant McCuistion of the WPD have exceeded this requirement.
The School of Police Supervision spans four weeks and emphasizes the significance of supervision as a management function within law enforcement. It particularly focuses on facilitating the transition from active street policing to managerial responsibilities, as highlighted by the WPD.
